Three persons were kidnapped in different locations in Anambra in one day at the weekend, with the state police command saying it has begun manhunt to arrest the kidnappers, as well as rescue operation to free the victims.
The first incident took place along Ifite -Amansea road in Awka, while the second one happened along Agulu- Oraukwu road.
The third one was at Nimo in Njikoka local government area, which led to the death of an attendant in a filling station in the area.
Meanwhile, the state Police command has said that its responding team has recovered the vehicle belonging to the victim that was abducted at Ifite-Amansea road.
According to the state Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam, the command has taken joint security measures to forestall such incidents in the state.
He added that efforts are ongoing to arrest the assailants and rescue the victims of the abduction incidents.
The CP also charged the command's tactical teams deployed to complement the joint security team to redouble their efforts to deprive the hoodlums of the space they desire so much to perpetrate their evil acts.
He vowed that the command shall leave no stone unturned in hunting down the assailants.
