4 Anambra indigenes to receive agric training in China

The Anambra State government is to train four people on two aspects of agriculture in China under the growing relationship between the state and the Asian nation.

The beneficiaries are Muogbo Uju Sussan, Nwagbo Comfort Chinenye, Uduogu Augustine Okechukwu, and Ude Arinze Francis.

Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Youth Empowerment Programme, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, said the fully-funded foreign aid training programme is a testament to the cordial relationship between the state and China.

Muogbo and Nwagbo would participate in a seminar on cultivation techniques of edible fungi for women in the "Belt and Road" countries sponsored by Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, China, while Uduogu and Ude would be participating in a seminar on food system transformation under the Global Development Initiative by Henan University of Technology.

According to Omenugha, the training is expected to further strengthen the ties between Anambra State and China and create new opportunities for cooperation and exchange in various fields.

Omenugha said: "We are excited to announce the successful facilitation, acceptance and participation of our people in the fully-funded Chinese foreign aid training programme holding in China.

"The seminar would be unpacking Juncao medicinal fungi spawn production; introduction of medicinal fungi spawn production process, spawn quality identification and preservation methods, etc.

"Among others, the programme promises to interrogate the transformation of Agricultural Food System and Rural Revitalization.

"We are hopeful that their participation at the seminar would provide enriching worldviews and experiences that would be shared with some of our young people in agriculture, upon their return.

"We thank our dear Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, who is intentionally creating prosperity and placing the state on the global map with his remarkable interventions in critical physical and human capital infrastructures.

"We also appreciate the generous interventions of the Chinese government through aid training programme; towards skilling and partnering with our people and government for shared prosperity.''
