Enugu State Government has issued the final demolition notice to property owners, residents and business owners whose structures posed as obstructions on the Nike Lake Road dualization Project Governor Peter Mbah administration.
Government had on October 30, 2024 issued
notifications and followed up with a field inspection and evaluation of structures for compensation purposes conducted from November 4 to November 11, 2024.
In a public service announcement signed and issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Enugu State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Ngozi Ngene, on Monday, the government warned that it would commence demolition of marked structures along the road within 24 hours.
The announcement reads in parts, "This is to inform the general public, particularly property owners, residents and business owners in the affected areas, that the Enugu State Government is commencing the demolition of marked structures along the 44.1km Nike Lake Road dualization Project (Peenox – Nowas - Ugwogo – Opi Nsukka dualization, Abakpa Nike – Opi Nsukka Junction) and also the marked structures along the 21.5km Enugu Airport Road Flyover Bridge – Eke Obinagu – Owo Junction – Amechi Idodo – Ebonyi State Border within 24 hours.
It is important to note that this is a follow-up to our earlier notifications issued on October 30, 2024. Additionally, a field inspection and evaluation of structures for compensation purposes were conducted from November 4 to November 11, 2024.
You are hereby advised to remove all your belongings and vacate the premises with immediate effect to avoid damage and/or loss of life.
Please direct all complaints to the Land/Property Reconciliation and Compensation Committee, Abuja Building, Government House Enugu.
