Alleged move to sack Anambra Revenue boss fake news - APGA Chief

By Madu Obi

A chieftain of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chinedu Obigwe has described as fake news the story making rounds that there are moves by the state government to6 sack the Chairman of the Anambra State Internal Revenue Service (AIRS), Chief Greg Ezeilo.

Ezeilo assumed office recently following the resignation of the former chairman of AIRS.

Obigwe said in Awka that Governor Soludo has confidence in the Chairman of AIRS, hence the reason he confirmed his appointment recently.

He said: "Chief Greg Ezeilo, as Chairman of AIRS, has the full support of the governor to run the agency in such a way that it will be more productive and the governor expects every other staff of the agency to submit to his leadership of the agency."

"Doing otherwise is insubordination and the governor will not tolerate that. He is also of the belief that anybody working at cross purposes with a Chairman of an organisation is not supposed to be in that organisation."

"As at today , Chief Greg Ezeilo is the Chairman "of AIRS and anybody working at cross purposes with him is doing so at his own peril because if Governor Soludo decides to take action, he will not spare the person."

"What AIRS has is one Chairman as captain and there cannot be two captains in a boat.

As far as performance is concerned, Chief Greg Ezeilo is doing very well because he is result -oriented."

"Governor Soludo is interested in the result they are getting for the state because the IGR they are generating is what he is using to develop Anambra State."
