The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial zone, Chief Ifeanyi Ubah has promised to do only one term if elected in next year's Anambra governorship poll.
Ubah recently defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, from the Young Progressive Party, YPP, and has indicated interest to challenge the incumbent governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo in the contest.
Addressing reporters in Nnewi, Ubah
vowed to do a single term in office to complete the turn of the Anambra South Senatorial District in the spirit of the existing zoning agreement in the state.
The incumbent governor, Prof Soludo, is from Anambra South Senatorial zone as Senator Ubah and is already preparing for reelection under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
Ubah said the state needed to be put on the path of economic growth urgently, expressing disappointment that the administration of Governor Soludo has shown to be a disappointment, with the people of the state lamenting that the APGA government has disappointed them.
Ubah also promised to conduct local government elections in the state within four months if voted into office as the governor of the state, so as to spread development to all parts of the state simultaneously.
According to him, four years are enough for any focused governor to take the state to greater heights and make the people happy.
He observed that development under Governor Soludo has been very slow, adding that the people's expectations that the Professor of Economics would take them to the next level have been dashed as the only thing the present administration does is destruction of the people's means of livelihood.
"My blueprints for the development of the state are innovative and none of my opponents can match them."
"If I become governor, Anambra State will be both commercial and health destination in the South-East in particular, and Nigeria in general."
"Anambra flag will be mounted in many capitals of the world to attract development to the state and our people in the diaspora will be motivated to come and invest at home", he said.
Ubah said that even as a private person, he had contributed immensely in the transformation of the lives of many people in Anambra State in various spheres of life, including sports, empowerment, education, commerce , employment, as well as overall youth and women emancipation.
