Anambra 2025: LP John Nwosu mobilizes Obidient Movement for support

By Madu Obi

The Labour Party governorship aspirant for the 2025 Anambra election, Mr. John Nwosu has injected life into the Obidient movement in Anambra State, ahead of the polls.

At the Obidient Movement South-East Good Governance Symposium held in Onitsha, Nwosu emphasized the movement's pivotal role in reshaping Nigeria's political landscape.

The Obidient movement, which massively backed Labour Party's 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, transcends politics, ethnicity, and religion and accommodates everyone seeking a better Nigeria.

The Anambra governorship aspirant is already garnering vast support of the Obedients against the incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo and other contenders in the 2025 polls.

He expressed dissatisfaction with Governor Soludo's administration, citing failures in security, electricity, health, and commerce, noting that although the people of Anambra State are known for commerce, there is no enabling environment for them to thrive.

He said that as an ICT consultant and economist, he believes he has what it takes to liberate Anambra State from underdevelopment.

Nwosu cautioned against hijacking the movement, citing mistakes made in Imo and Edo States.

He said his vision for Anambra focuses on human capital development, creating an enabling environment for sustainable growth, as well as prioritizing security, health, education, economy, enterprise, market, and social welfare.

Describing Anambra as the next battleground, Nwosu urged Obidients to join forces by applying lessons learned to build a strong foundation for the 2027 presidential elections.

Former Secretary to Anambra State Government, Oseloka Henry Obaze, described the Obidient movement as a refreshing force, bringing civility, respect, and dignity to Onitsha Kingdom .

He noted that Labour Party is the party to beat in the 2025 Anambra election, with many governorship aspirants vying for the ticket.
