Popular cleric in Anambra State, Rev Fr Emmanuel Obimma known as Fr Ebube Muonso has described a governorship aspirant of All Progressives Congress, APC, for the November 8 election, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, as an inspiration to Nigerian youths.
Fr Ebube Muonso made the description on Sunday while praying for Okonkwo ahead of the APC primary on April 5, 2025 at the Blessed Iwene Tansi Catholic Church Parish, Umudioka, Dunukofia local government area of Anambra State.
Okonkwo had gone to the church to seek the face of God as his party prepares for the primaries that would nominate APC candidate for the November 8 governorship election.
While delivering his homily at the church service entitled, " Changing the battle ground ", Obimma said: "Professor Okonkwo has been solid in everything, despite not coming from a rich background
The people will soon defeat their enemy. God has already heard the cries of His people. Weep no more, the strategy of the devil must fail. There's no victory without a desert war."
Fr Obimma, said he is not quarrelling with any person as being claimed in some quarters, adding that those attacking him were only fighting God and not him as a person
"They cannot do anything to me. What I will not condone is to allow them to insult my fellow Priests and you want me to keep quiet. I'm very strong in the Lord. Any battle you are fighting, always hold your head high.
I will not fight them, rather, I will continue praying for them. Instead of them bringing me down, God will continue to lift me up", he said.
In his speech, Prof Okonkwo, told the congregation, that no matter the weight of conspiracy and gang up from anywhere, God's will must be done.
"We are here to dedicate the period of our campaigns for the November governorship election in the state. Only God gives powers. It will be a privilege to be the governor of Anambra state.
And for those who believe that our youths must have something doing, for those who believe there are enough potentials in our state to make it great again, for those who believe in securing our lives, the time has come."
