Officials of Operation Clean and Healthy Anambra, OCHA Brigade, have arrested 10 sex workers lodging at Happiness Guest House, Amawbia, Awka South local government area and shut down the hotel.
This operation was carried out after intelligence report shows that their illegal activities has aided various crimes, ranging from drug trafficking, under-aged sex workers and a hideout for armed robbers and other criminal activities.
Managing Director of the agency, Chief Celestine Anere, who spoke after the raid, vowed to ensure that the suspects would be arrested and prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others who might be running similar illegal activities in the State.
He urged people to report anyone suspected to be involved would in such criminal activities, assuring that all complaints, inquiries and submissions should be reported to his office.
