The reawakening of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Anambra State embarked upon by the new Caretaker Committee Chairman, Engr. Chigozie Igwe, has started gathering momentum.
In the latest build-up activity at the weekend, the Chairman, Engr. Igwe, was at the thanksgiving event of the former House of Representatives member for Ogbaru Federal Constituency, Hon. Chu-Chu Onyema, in Ogbaru, used the opportunity to see and interact with stakeholders and members of the party in Ogbaru local government of the state.
Igwe, speaking at the occasion, commended the party faithful who turned out in their numbers, for keeping faith with the party not withstanding the troubles of the past.
He said, "I have special admiration for our leaders in Ogbaru and specifically for Hon. Chu-Chu Onyema, for your tenacity and resilience even in the face of adversity."
The Chairman described Onyema as a good and inspirational leader who has consistently made sacrifices over time to build and unite the party adding that, "He is a strong rallying force for PDP, not only in Ogbaru but Anambra state and beyond."
Igwe who also expressed happiness at the turn-out and the rekindled vigor of the party men and women said, "I urged you to remain faithful, hopeful and focused on the on going rebuilding process of the party as there is light at end of the tunnel."
Present at the event included the former Federal House member, a Board of Trustee (BoT) member of the PDP, Chief Ugochukwu Okeke (Enyioha); PDP South East Zonal Women Leader, Lady Tonia Nwankwo; PDP Anambra Admin Secretary, Prince Casmir Ajulu and PDP Anambra Women Leader, Ezinne Patricia Onyia, and other members of the Caretaker Committee.
