Operators of the newly launched Agunechemba Security Squad in Anambra State have raided a kidnappers' hideout in a brothel at Akwu-Ukwu, Idemili South local government area and arrested two suspected kidnappers and five sex workers
Following a tip-off from local residents, a one-storey building housing the kidnappers and sex workers was immediately demolished by the security operatives, in accordance with the Anambra State Homeland Security Laws.
According to one of the operatives, the raid followed credible information from concerned members of the public about suspicious activities at the brothel.
"We received reports of young men visiting the brothel regularly, arriving late in the evening and leaving early in the morning.
We kept watch, confirmed the information, and apprehended them. Some members of the gang are still at large and we have vowed to track them down", he said.
