Anambra stakeholders never endorsed rotation of governorship, says APC chieftain

By Madu Obi

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress , APC, in Anambra State, Mr. Ifeanyi Ibezi has said that there was never a time stakeholders in the state discussed or endorsed rotational arrangement concerning the governorship of the state.

Speaking in Awka, Ibezi, who is the Director-General of Sir Paul Chukwuma APC primary election campaign, said it was a decision taken by one political party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

According to him, the former Governor of the state, Mr Peter Obi, introduced the zoning for APGA and used it to compensate Anambra North senatorial zone which had not produced any governor since the creation of the new Anambra State up to that time.

Ibezi argued that governorship candidates had always come out from all the zones during elections, adding that for the 2025 election, APC would make sure that it presented a good candidate that would defeat APGA.

"APC is good to go. We are ready for 2025 governorship election because Prof Chukwuma Soludo has failed the people and we want to try Sir Paul Chukwuma.

Anambra people are tired of the killings on daily basis as if we are in a war. They are tired of kidnappings and other crimes. Besides, Anambra wants to link up with the party at the centre and not one back yard political party" , Ibezi said
