An Anglican Priest of Nnewi Diocese in Anambra State, Rev. Agoziem Israel Okafor, has resigned from priesthood and has already set up an adoration ministry of his own.
In a quick response, however, the Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev Chukwuma Obi has stripped the priest of his ordination license.
It was gathered that Rev Okafor resigned from the Diocese due to what was described as "irreconcilable differences".
Okafor was at the Church of Pentecost, Obiuno Otolo Nnewi before he was transferred to Dame Irene Okwuosa Memorial Convent, Oraifite as a Chaplin, a posting he refused to accept.
He later submitted his resignation letter and immediately began his own ministry, thereby defying the Bishop's authority.
It was gathered that Bishop Ndubuisi Obi has warned church members in the Diocese to beware of Okafor's new venture, reminding the people that he is no longer accountable to the Diocese and has been dismissed as a priest.
