A three storey building has collapsed at Ifite area of Awka, barely few days after a three - storey students hostel collapsed in the same vicinity.
The collapsed building is still under construction and there were no human casualties when it caved in.
Residents of the area have become apprehensive in view of the frequency in which houses in the area collapse.
Early this week, a two storey building at Amawbia market also collapsed and trapped many vegetable sellers and passersby before they were rescued. Four persons lost their lives in the incident.
Similarly, a five storey centenary building under construction at Dennis Memorial Grammar School, Onitsha owned by the Anglican Church, as well as a block of stalls in Ochanja Market, Onitsha owned by the Anambra State government also collapsed recently.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo has already set up a panel to investigate the cause of the building collapse.
