There has been another building collapse in the commercial city of Onitsha three weeks after a similar incident at the Ochanja area of the town.
This time, it is a five storey building under construction at Fegge in Onitsha South local government area.
Residents in the neighborhood said they heard sound of a crack, followed by a loud sound that shook the area.
Although work was not going on at the time of the incident, people in the area said there were what seemed like human activities before the building collapsed.
Secretary of Onitsha South local government area said an emergency rescue team has been deployed to the building to ascertain if there were casualties and carry out preliminary rescue activities with the assistance of security operatives in the area
He, however, urged members of the public not to panic as the local government administration is on top of the situation.
