Another vehicle manufacturing company berths in Anambra

A second vehicle manufacturing company will soon start production in

Anambra State.


The Kojo Motors Auto Assembly and Natural Gas Facility is located in Umunya, Oyi local government area of the state. Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing in Nnewi, which was the first, has been making waves as it produces all categories of vehicles.


The state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the new plant, which is the first CNG manufacturing automobile company in the state, on Friday.


Performing the function, Governor Soludo described the manufacturing outfit as a sign of progress for the state and a testament to the commitment of his administration to industrialization.


According to the governor, the new plant would create many jobs and boost the economy of the state, urging other investors to avail themselves the conducive business environment existing in Anambra state.


He said: "Our agenda is to be able to get our people; the most enterprising people on earth, from importation to production. This investment effort will satisfy the local market and export to the world."


"Kojo has made a very smart move to start here. It is in the best interest of investors to come to Anambra to invest. It is not an act of charity or philanthropy, but a business decision."


"Yesterday, we signed MOUs with various organizations and most of the Investors have already been deployed to site to build modern, planned cities with the highest standards and enforce their maintenance."


"In the next six months, Anambra will be a large construction site by the private sector. Those who have made investment decisions in Anambra today are very smart. If you want to do or produce anything in Anambra, call me. I will market it for you."


"CNG-powered vehicles and buses are the future. The chairman of the company has mentioned that they are scaling up to electric cars, which is zero emission and fits into our clean, green, and sustainable environment."


"And when the Lokoja-Abuja road is done, journey to Abuja by road from Anambra will be three hours. That is the gateway! Anambra is a hub!"


In his speech, the chairman of Kojo Motors, Mr. Ikenna Onuegbu, said the company believes in growth and innovation, and promised to advertise Anambra through the company's products.


He stated that the plant will create direct and indirect jobs, as well as enhance technological development by using CNG as fuel, which he explained, is a cleaner and more efficient alternative to petrol.


He added that the plant will ultimately embrace electric cars.
