The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has elected new Archbishops for four Provinces and seven Bishops for various dioceses in Nigeria.
The four Archbishops are Rt. Rev'd Sosthenes Eze for Enugu Province, Most Rev'd Israel Afolabi Amao - Kwara Province, Rt. Rev'd Dr. Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe - Ibadan Province and Most Rev'd Daniel Yisa - Lokoja Province.
The seven Bishops are Ven. Ephraim Gongdem - Jos Diocese, Ven. Dr. John Obinali - Okigwe Diocese, Ven. Prof. Sam Ike - Enugu Diocese, Ven. Dr. Godwin Odubena - Ijebu North Diocese, Ven. Bernard Hanson - Ahoada Diocese, Ven. Titus Alkali - Wusasa Diocese and
Ven. Samuel O. Ifeyemi - Osun North Diocese
The elections were conducted during the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Episcopal Synod held on 12th August 2024, at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Maitama, Abuja.
The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, The Most Rev. Dr. Henry C. Ndukuba, announced the elections and prayed for God's wisdom, strength, and good health to guide them in their new roles.
The consecration of the Bishops-elect and the presentation of the Archbishops-elect will take place on Wednesday, 18th September 2024, during the standing committee meeting of the Church to be hosted by Nike Diocese in Enugu State.
