Following a video circulating in the social media concerning the rift that existed between two Nnewi- born businessmen many years ago, Dr. Cosmas Maduka and Senator Ifeanyi Ubah representing Anambra South in the Senate, the two men at the weekend, reminded everyone that the issues had since been sorted out.
Maduka was seen in the video accusing Ubah of being indebted to him , among other allegations.
But at the burial of the mother of a former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Benchuks Nwosu in Nnewi, many people raised eyebrows when they saw the two men walk into the arena in a very friendly manner.
To clear the air, both men decided to speak with journalists around.
Maduka, who spoke first said: "This is something that happened more than 11 to 12 years ago."
"I have been getting calls from all over the world with people asking me what was happening between me and my brother Ifeanyi, as if it is something that happened just yesterday."
"We have been friends and brothers. We have put what happened in the past behind us, and we speak everyday."
"He has asked me for favours and I have asked him for favours too. Just yesterday I called him and asked him for something which he just did for me today."
"He was at my wife's funeral and he ate in my place and I also eat in his place."
On his part, Senator Ubah said: "It is good that Cosmas himself has cleared the air by himself. People should learn to respect our privacy and mind their business. People should stop looking for trouble where there is none.
"Let us get ourselves engaged with activities that will better the lives of our people and make our dear country a better place, instead of dwelling in the past and distracting ourselves with issues that do not exist."
Ubah accused his political detractors of digging up an old video just to cause disharmony and distraction in the polity with a view to diverting attention.
Recall that Senator Ubah recently declared his intention to run for the governor of Anambra State in 2025 and since then, his political opponents have been digging up all manner of things about him.
