Don’t panic, Igbo will be great again - Iwuanyanwu

The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has asked Ndigbo not to worry over current situation of things in the South East region, assuring them of a soon to come turn around that will restore the greatness of the region.


Iwuanyanwu said the new Ohanaeze Ndígbo under his leadership is putting it's trust in God and working tirelessly to ignite those potentials that will assure greatness for Alaigbo.


The Ohanaeze leader spoke on Sunday at the Cathedral Church of Good Shepherd, Independent Layout Enugu during a thanksgiving service as part of this year’s Igbo Day Celebration.


Iwuanyanwu who was in the church service with executives of Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other Igbo leaders stressed that Igbo has the potentials to be great again and urged the people cooperate with Ohanaeze leadership to achieve it.

 
 

The Ahaejiagamba Ndígbo said, “I have carried out a study on the potentials of our region and I am very proud. We have everything that can make us great, agricultural potentials, mineral potentials.


We are sitting on top of the biggest reservoir of gas, so please don’t be worried; things are going to be better. Things may look bad now but things will be better because I am putting my trust in God.


“We the Igbo have got a lot of Diaspora, we’re establishing Ohanaeze in all the continents. In Europe, headquarters in London, both America and Canada, headquarters in Washington, South American, Carabeans, headquarters in Brazil, Asia headquarters in China, Africa headquarters in South Africa."


"So very soon Igboland will be great Igboland, we are doing our best and God will bless all of us.”


Iwuanyanwu expressed gratitude to the governors of the five South East states for their support for him since assumption of office as Ohanaeze Ndigbo President General and assured that with such support and that of other Igbo leaders including Ndigbo in Diaspora, Igbo would soon regain its greatness.


“On 30th of April, I was sworn-in to be the President General of Ohanaeze and Archbishop Chukwuma was there and when I saw him I was very happy because he is my spiritual father and the venue where I took the oath to lead Igbo is old Government House Enugu. That place is a hallowed ground, I promised to lead the Igbo."


“I want to say that the five state governors for the first time rallied around one person, all of them supported me and all the five state governors are still supporting me. And frankly speaking, Igbo are supporting me everywhere. I’ve been on tour of Europe, America, with my colleagues, I have a NEC working with me, we accept to transform Igboland.”


The Ohanaeze boss also thanked Enugu state governor, Peter Mbah, for the sponsorship of the Igbo Day celebration saying, “I want to thank his Excellency, the Governor of Enugu state, Enugu state has bore the responsibility of hosting Igbo Day celebration this year."


:His Excellency has done very well, everything to do in this Igbo Day Celebration was finance, sponsored by His Excellency the Governor of the state, Peter Mbah, we are very grateful to him."


“This day is part of Igbo Day celebration. We are here to give thanks to God, we believe in what the preacher said that once you put your trust in God, He will never fail you. My life is a testimony of God’s love."


“Enugu you know is the home of everybody in Eastern Nigeria. Enugu is the cradle of all the developments in Eastern Nigeria and whenever we come here we have a sense of home coming, and that is how I feel right now."


"Of being in this church unveils certain memories to me, first of all we were worshiping in St. Bartholomews before this Cathedral was built and we came here before Imo state was created and I relocated to Imo state. But Bishop Chukwuma has a special relationship with me, we share one thing in common, that is, love for Igboland and people.”
