The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon.Somtochukwu Udeze has said that the present economic hardship in the country is not the wish of the nation's founding fathers, calling for positive approach and rightful disposition by the leaders and the led.
In his message to mark the 64th Independence anniversary of Nigeria, Udeze paid glowing tribute to Nigeria's founding fathers for their selfless service and sacrifice towards the growth and development of the country.
He urged Nigerians to sustain the good legacies which the foremost nationalists and elder statesmen bequeathed to them to enable their efforts and vision to endure.
He expressed the hope that Nigeria will be great and prosperous again and charged the people to see the peace, unity and development of the country as a collective responsibility.
The speaker enjoined religious and political leaders, as well as the masses, to seek the face of God through prayer for the revival of the country, adding that Nigeria has all it takes to bounce back to the era of economic boom and adequate security of lives and property of the masses.
Udeze commended those in leadership positions who have continued to use their exalted offices to improve the living standard of the masses and prayed God to drive away those inhuman acts and other vices that have continued to retard the pace of Nigeria's development and hamper corporate existence of the people.
