The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon.Somtochukwu Udeze has urged Muslims to always promote values of universal justice, peace, mutual understanding and love in their religious obligations.

In his goodwill message to Muslims on behalf of the state House of Assembly, Udeze observed that as Ramadan symbolizes holiness, dedication to worship and charity work, Muslims should stick to the essence of the feast by exhibiting those virtues that will further unite the people and uplift the nation at all times.

The speaker, who called for tolerance among different religious bodies in the country, urged Muslims to strive to maintain peaceful coexistence and harmonious relationship with their Christian brothers in the interest of peace and progress of the country.

He enjoined them to reciprocate the governor's gesture by giving his administration the necessary support.

Udeze expressed the hope that with fervent prayers from the Muslims and other religions groups, as well as sincerity and uprightness on the part of the political leaders, the current economic and security challenges confronting the country would be surmounted.

He assured that the state legislature will continue to enact laws and resolutions aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence, development of the state, as well as the well-being of the citizens and urged Muslims to continue to operate within the laws of the state and enjoy the hospitality of Anambra people.
