Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka has urged African youths to grasp the reigns of change in the continent, saying that it is necessary for them to showcase their value.
In a keynote address he delivered at the Okosisi Colloquium, Chidoka asked the youths not to await invitations, but to boldly invite themselves to the table.
The Colloquium, organized by Zuri Health Tech Company founded by Ike Arthur Anoke in 2020, was convened in Nairobi, Kenya.
He stressed the imperative to reverse the trend of ageing leadership and advocated for proactive steps toward governance.
Drawing from his tenure in modernizing Nigeria's Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Chidoka unveiled his four-step success model of Knowledge, Vision, Execute, and Sustain (KNVES), highlighting the importance of establishing a baseline, fostering a shared vision, effective execution, and sustaining results.
Emphasizing the potency of youth contribution, Chidoka urged young leaders to harness their energy and fearlessness to drive positive change within their communities, noting that taking the initiative is the pathway to fostering youth inclusion in governance.
"As Africa stands at a critical juncture, African youths must rise, lead, and shape a prosperous future," he said.
