The Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon Somtochukwu Udeze has denied having a hand in the alleged removal of the chairman of Ogbaru local government area, Chief Franklin Nwadialor, stating that it is not within his constitutional mandate to interfere with the administration of any local government.

Udeze represents Ogbaru 11 constituency in the state legislature. "Ihave no hand removal of any Mayor, including Chief Franklin Nwadialor and general interference with the administration of Ogbaru Council Area", he said.

The embattled local government chairman was arrested in the United States of America, USA, over alleged offence committed some years ago.

Speaking through his media aide, Franklin Osuagwu, the Speaker urged the people to discountenance the report linking him with the withholding of someone's salary at the Ogbaru local government, adding that governance of local governments follows constitutional provisions with authorities vested on local personnel.

He explained that his official duties as Speaker are too numerous that he has no time to impinge on the administration of Ogbaru local government area.

Udeze maintained that in the last one and a half years he has functioned as Speaker, he has been actively occupied with the onerous responsibility of ensuring that the state lawmakers continue to make laws that will guarantee peace, unity, security and development of the state.

According to him, as a legislator, he has achieved a lot for his Ogbaru people through various empowerment schemes, employments, attraction of road projects especially the Atani-Ozubulu road, as well as rehabilitation of failed roads.

Udeze assured that the State Assembly under his watch is committed to moving Anambra State to enviable heights, while appealing to the people of Ogbaru to desist from smearing his cherished image, but rather join hands with him in making Ogbaru great

The Speaker also cited as one of his personally funded development projects in Ogbaru, the ongoing gigantic Agricultural Processing Plant in Atani, which he said, will serve the entire communities in Ogbaru Local Government Area when completed, in addition to his recent appeal to Governor Chukwuma Soludo to honour him in Ogbaru by being the first governor in Anambra State to construct the Atani-Osomalla-Ogwuikpele road, which the Governor gave the assurance to do as some of his development efforts in the area.
