The release of Chief Mrs Beatrice Ekweremadu, wife of former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu from the United Kingdom (UK) prison and her subsequent return to Nigeria, has brought jubilation to her Enugu country home.
As soon as the news of her release and return filtered into the Coal City on Wednesday, relations, friends and political associates were seen at various places discussing about it and expressing thanks to God.
At Mpu Ekweremadu's community in Aninri Local Government, the villagers were said to have stormed her family house where they jubilated prayed for the quick release of Sen. Ekweremadu.
Mrs Elweremadu, reliable source said returned to Nigeria on Tuesday evening and is presently in Abuja.
Recall that Senator Ekweremadu, his wife and one Dr Obinna Obeta were sentenced to prison by a UK court for their alleged involvement in organ harvesting.
The former Deputy President of the Senate was sentenced to 10 years, while his wife was sentenced to six years.
Meanwhile, the President of Mpu Town Union Federated, Mr Benjamin Chijioke, has described Mrs Ekweremadu's return as a huge relief to the entire community.
He prayed to God to intervene in the case of Ekweremadu, their son so that he would also return home like his wife in good health.
