Many people were feared dead when a Sienna bus lost control and ran into the popular Oye Agu Market, Abagana along the old Enugu -Onitsha road in Njikoka local government area of Anambra State.
Details of the crash were still sketchy, but it was gathered that most of the victims were people selling along the road.
A trending video of the incident showed the crashed Sienna vehicle and some of the traders who were crushed to death.
President-General of Abagana community, Mr. Ben Okongwu, however said that only three people were confirmed dead, adding that several others who were injured have been taken to hospital for treatment.
He also said the crash was as a result of loss of control by the driver, who was slightly injured following the crash.
Operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were yet to visit the scene, even as its spokesperson, Margaret Onabe said she was not aware of the incident.
