The National Coordinator and Chief Executive of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), Mrs Halima Shehu, has received an unpleasant new year gift from the presidency as she was on Tuesday suspended by President Bola Tinubu.
President Tinubu according to Channels Television news, approved Shehu’s suspension with immediate effect and ordered her replacement.
The presidency's action is said to be shocking as it came merely three months after Halima's confirmation for the appointment by the Senate.
She worked as the National Coordinator of the Conditional Cash Transfer Programme, where she used her banking and career expertise to see to the digitalization of the programme.
The former banker worked at the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, from 2017 to 2022.
