Former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar has said expressed optimism that despite the challenges bedeviling the Nigerian State, her citizens can still achieve the Nigeria of their dreams.
Abdulsalami who is the Chairman, National Peace Accord spoke on Thursday in Abuja, at the public presentation of the book "The
making of Modern Nigeria: From Pre-colonial era till date," a publication of The Sun Publishing Limited.
The former Head of State and the Economic Community of West African States' (ECOWAS) Special Envoy, who was the chairman of the occasion, noted that though the country is facing some challenges, it has all it takes to change the trajectory.
Also speaking, the Managing Director of The Sun Publishing Limited, Onuoha Ukeh said that Nigerian children deserve to learn about the history of the country in school.
According to Ukeh, the knowledge of Nigeria's history, will enable students as leaders of tomorrow for the the future.
While expressing delight that history has been re-introduced in schools, Ukeh emphasized the need for history to be made a compulsory course in higher institutions.
