The former director of public relations of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and presently the special adviser on special duties to the Vice Chancellor, Dr Emma Ojukwu has returned to the public relations unit of the university to oversee the directorate.
A letter from the institution stated that the appointment takes immediate effect.
The letter said the aim of the redeployment is to strengthen information management in the university, adding that Dr Ojukwu will continue to oversee the DIPR until a substantive Director is appointed by the university.
Dr Ojukwu, who confirmed the appointment said: "I have today started overseeing the office of the Directorate of information and public Relations Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka."
"The acting incumbent of the office, who was recently promoted Deputy Registrar, has been transferred out to another administrative unit."
Dr Emmanuel Ojukwu will continue as Special Adviser to the Vice Chancellor on Public Relations and Special Duties and will additionally be in charge of information management in the university.
Dr Ojukwu was first appointed the director of Directorate of information and Public Relations in 2007 and in 2019, was deployed to the Department of Political Science as a lecturer.
He has degrees in English language, Mass Communication and Political Science.
