The new acting Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University, Prof Kate Omenugha, has unveiled her vision for the institution, saying she'll hit the ground running immediately.
Barely few days after her appointment was announced by the visitor to the university, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, Omenugha has already scheduled a meeting with the various groups in the university, beginning with all the professors.
She is also expected to meet leaders of the various unions, as well as the students of the university.
Speaking shortly after her appointment, Omenugha promised that her time as Acting Vice Chancellor would be marked with increased visibility and growth of the university.
She specifically emphasized on building a new moral code for students of the university and youths generally, vowing that her key reforms would be geared towards rapid development of the university.
According to her, there would be emphasis on the renewal of the value system for youths, as a critical step in redirecting Anambra youths and keeping them focused on what matters.
She said: “There are challenges, but my vision is anchored on visibility and viability of the university and we are determined to take every step to ensure that Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu University experiences remarkable growth".
Recall that Professor Omenugha, a former Commissioner for Basic Education in Anambra State, was named as the Acting Vice Chancellor of the university following the expiration of the tenure of Professor Greg Nwakoby.
