By Madu Obi

Parents of students of the Federal Government Girls College, Nkwelle Ezunaka( Near Onitsha), Anambra State, have protested against the decision of the school authorities to force students to buy their school made Detol disinfectant.

Some of the parents said they are doubting the quality of the disinfectant made by the school in comparison to the popular Detol approved by NAFDAC.

The parents, who said they had purchased the Detol product at N10,500 per liter, were shocked when the school declared it "fake" and demanded that students must purchase the school-made disinfectant at N8,000.

One of the parents said: "This is unacceptable. Who can buy a patented product in a supermarket only for a local teacher to declare it fake and impose a school-made product on students? This is criminal."

He described the action of the school as an exploitation and prioritization of profits over student welfare.

He called for an investigation into the matter and demanded that the school accept the patented Detol product.
