Hundreds of Youths of Nimo Community in Njikoka local government area of Anambra State, have protested an attempt by a group led by deposed leaders in the town to disparage the traditional ruler of the town, Igwe Maxi Ike Oliobi.

Recently at a gathering in the community, Igwe Oliobi was verbally and physically attacked by the leader of the group, who accused the Monarch of being behind the High Court ruling that nullified his election.as the Vice President of Nimo Town Development Union, NTDU.

Angered by the development, the youths, during their protest, warned those insulting and challenging the traditional ruler to respect the judgement of the High Court and the constitution of the town.

According to the protesters, Nimo Community would no longer tolerate insults on the Royal Father, reminding those concerned that it is wrong to disrespect the traditional institution.

Pledging their loyalty to the Nimo Community, they vowed to always respect their Monarch and his cabinet as they respect their own parents.

One of the youth leaders, Mr UgoTech Edozie, said the behaviour of the people concerned did not in any way represent the way Nimo youths behave.

He called on all well meaning Nimo Youths and others alike to always be respectful and law abiding.
