Senator Umeh mourns Iwuanyanwu's death, says Igbo losing Icons in quick succession

The Senator representing Anambra Central, Senator Victor Umeh, has mourned the passing of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, lamenting that Igbo nation had of recent, lost icons on quick succession.


He recalled the loss of notable figures like Professor George Obiozor, Ogbonnaya Onu, Professor Ben Nwabueze, Chief Mbazulike Amechi among others.


Umeh described Iwuanyanwu's death as a tragic loss, noting that he died while serving the Igbo nation.


An official of Ohaneze Ndigbo said Chief Iwuanyanwu has been sick for some time. .


Iwuanyanwu, a Civil Engineer, was born on 4th September 1942. A politician and businessman, considered one of the richest Igbo men, Iwuanyanwu became the 11th president-general of Ohaneze Ndigbo following the death of the former president general, Professor George Obiozor
