In a bid to enhance the security of lives and property in the 179 communities, the Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has sworn in Prince Ken Okwuchukwu Emekakayi as the Special Adviser on Community Security.

In his speech, which took place at the Government House, Awka, Governor Soludo reiterated the importance of community security, describing it as a top priority of his administration.

He observed that crimes, such as armed robbery and cultism, have become rampant in some parts of the state and emphasized the need to tackle these issues head-on.

The Governor expressed his confidence that with the appointment of Emekakayi to join the larger security team, the state would experience a higher level of security.

Responding, Emeakayi thanked Governor Soludo for the appointment and promised to work tirelessly to ensure that the state becomes a safe haven for residents and visitors alike.

He noted that his focus would be on community policing, intelligence gathering, and collaboration with security agencies to nip crimes in the bud.

The new Special Adviser is not new on matters of security. As the President General of Okija in Ihiala local government area, Emeakayi turned the once volatile area into one of the most peaceful communities in Anambra State.

He was also a Commissioner for Works in the state and was once the state secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
