Soludo sacks ABS MD, appoints Molokwu to replace him

The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has removed Mr. Chido Obidiegwu as the Managing Director of the state-owned Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) with immediate effect In his place, Mr. Christopher Osemedua Molokwu, was named the new Managing Director of ABS.


Molokwu, who hails from Delta State, is a seasoned media practitioner and an accomplished broadcaster.


His career spans over 16 years, during which he has garnered expertise in strategic planning, customer service, event management, and social media.


Prior to his appointment, Molokwu served as the Programme Manager at Wazobia FM, Onitsha and as Head of Sports at Steam Broadcasting Limited.


A graduate of the University of Benin where he earned a degree in English Language and Literature, Molokwu is a member of the Institute of Disaster Management and Control, and an Associate Member of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON).


The new MD possesses leadership and professional skills in media management, community engagement, and social services which, according to a statement from the Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Christian Aburime, positioned him to lead ABS into a new era of growth and innovation.


While thanking Obidiegwu for his services in ABS, Governor Soludo wished him well in his future endeavours.


The governor also urged the new MD to key into the administration’s vision of transforming Anambra into a livable and prosperous state.
