The newly posted Commissioner of Police of Enugu State Command, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu has charged Supervisory Officers of the Command, to stay focused and deliver on their responsibilities.
He also charged them to be up and doing in order not to be caught up in vicarious liability.
CP Uzuegbu gave the charge during his maiden conference with Senior Police Officers, made up of the Command's Management team, Area Commanders, and those of operational formations and tactical teams, Divisional Police Officers, and heads of sections and units at the Senior Police Officers Mess, Enugu.
The new State Police boss, according to the State Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe (DSP), had in his lecture during the conference, charged the Supervisory Officers to stay focused and ensure that they continue to deliver on the responsibilities bestowed on them and the overall mandates of the Nigeria Police Force.
Uzuegbu maintained that, "despite the challenging security situations of these times," the command under his watch cannot afford to disappoint the good people of the state and Nigerians in general.
The CP stressed the need for the Supervisory Officers to align themselves with the policing vision of the Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and ensure utmost professionalism, firmness, and respect for the fundamental rights of citizens in the discharge of their duties.
He charged the Officers on the need to entrench a policing pattern that is "Grassroots-driven, Proactive, People-oriented, and Problem-solving," which he otherwise code-named “G-3Ps,” emphasizing that the policing thrust is aimed at enhancing public security and safety in the State.
