Our hearts are saddened at the news of the passing on of a global Icon, a talented, well schooled and exposed musician, Onyeka Onwenu.
However, we believe that she has gone to a better place. More so, a place where her efforts through her God given talent, charisma good will, boldness and integrity with which she advocated fairness, love, equality, diversity and joy will ever be appreciated.
Onyeka Onwenu, as she insisted I call her without adding any Appellation or title was a great support and inspiration to the PPGN and the Obidient movement worldwide.
She was optimistic for a better Nigeria, She was honoured as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) in 2011. MFR stands amongst the evidence of other numerous works to humanity in music, Nollywood movies and as a voice of the unprivileged.
The Ever confident and bold music icon, passed to glory on Tuesday 30th July 2024 at Reddington Hospital Lagos soon after performing one of her original hit songs ‘One love’ during the 80th birthday celebration of Mrs Stella Okoli of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
We will passionately miss Onyeka Onwenu.
May she continue to rest in the bosom of Abraham.
The Almighty God will surely continue to bless and console her children, family, her loved ones, the obidients, Nigerians and the global community touched by her works both at this time and always.
The Ever confident, passionate, committed, diligent, charismatic and bold music icon, Onyeka Onwenu, Rest in peace.
We will forever miss a global Icon.
