Awka- Mr. Samuel Nnaemeka Ufoh has been appointed the Acting Registrar of Nnamdi Azikiwe University with effect from April 8, 2024.
The tenure of the current Registrar expired on 7th April, 2024.
The appointment was made public through a letter signed by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Charles Esimone.
Esimone's letter read: “In the absence of the Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and in the exercise of my powers as the Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, I hereby appoint you Acting Registrar of the University with effect from Monday, 8th April 2024.
“You will remain in that position until a substantive Registrar is appointed, except as may be dictated by any emergent exigencies.
"I congratulate you on your appointment and hope that your performance in office will justify the confidence inherent in this appointment."
Before his appointment, Ufoh, who hails from Nri in Anaocha local government area of Anambra State, was a Deputy Registrar 1 in charge of Personnel Unit of the Registry.
The former Registrar, Mrs. Philomena Okoye handed over to Ufoh at a colourful ceremony held in the office of the Registrar of the university on Monday.
