Former Governor of Enugu State, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has boosted the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme, with a donation of surgical equipment worth millions of Naira.
Director of the programme, Dr. George Ajogwu, who disclosed this on Tuesday said the donation of the equipment is meant to fortify the Programme.
Expressing their joy and gratitude for what he called significant contribution of Ugwuanyi,
Dr. Ajogwu, stated that this donation was intended to augment the facility's resources, to allow it to accommodate a greater number of beneficiaries.
"This gesture underscores former Governor Ugwuanyi's unwavering support for his successor, Governor Peter Mbah, and Deputy Governor Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai, in their mission to propel Enugu State forward.
"This generous contribution made by Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi encompasses a wide array of vital surgical equipment and supplies. Among these donations are cartons of vancryl sutures, ensuring the availability of high-quality suturing materials for various medical procedures.
Additionally, cartons of vancryl 1/ sutures and cartons of Nylon 2/ sutures have been provided, underscoring the commitment to maintaining a well-equipped surgical facility.
"The former Governor's benevolence also extends to the provision of cartons of surgical gloves, ensuring that medical practitioners have access to essential protective gear."
"Moreover, cartons of examination gloves have been included, further enhancing safety protocols during surgical interventions," he said.
Also among Ugwuanyi's donation he said includes the provision of five wheelchairs, a contribution that will greatly benefit patients requiring mobility assistance.
He further said, "Additionally, numerous cartons containing various surgical materials have been supplied, addressing the diverse needs of patients across a spectrum of surgical cases."
"This comprehensive donation by Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi reaffirms his commitment to enhancing healthcare access and quality in Enugu State, leaving an indelible mark on the Gburugburu Free Surgery Programme and the beneficiaries it serves."
