The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has denied involvement in the alleged lawsuit against former Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano, in the United States of America, USA.
IPOB's Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, said in a statement that the group did not authorize anyone to file a suit against Obiano.
According to him, the lawsuit was a surprise to IPOB, insisting that those behind it were not representing the pro -Biafra organization.
He urged those behind the suit to either withdraw the case, or proceed with their individual names, adding that using IPOB's name without authorization is not acceptable.
Powerful also requested the former governor to provide the names of the impersonators behind the lawsuit, emphasizing that IPOB is a disciplined organization that operates under leadership authorization and would, therefore, not allow anyone to use its name for fraudulent purposes..
