You can't divide Labour Party ranks, Nwoye tells APGA * Umeh, Nwoye working together

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has been advised to channel all its efforts into working for Anambrians who voted for them in the last governorship polls, than engaging in futile efforts at dividing the ranks of the Labour Party (LP).

Offering the advice while dispelling the story that the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Victor Umeh, is having an issue with his Anambra North Senatorial District colleague, Senator Tony Nwoye, the Dr Tony Nwoye Media Office said the LP Senate Caucus is intact and working harmoniously under the able leadership of Senator Umeh.

They described the story as rumour being propagated by some misguided members of APGA to create disaffiliation amongst the leaders of the Labour Party, insisting that Senator Umeh had been one of the greatest supporters of Senator Nwoye in the Senate.

The statement reads in part, “Our attention has been drawn on the above baseless and irresponsible subject Matter and we have received a lot of calls from well-meaning Anambraians on a post being circulated on social media against Our Leader and Senator, Senator Victor Umeh by Online Urchins.

“Senator Victor Umeh OFR has been one of greatest supporters of Our Principal in the Senate. He has always supported, seconded and co-sponsor most of his Bills and Motions in the Senate."

“This news is propagated by few misguided APGA members who are obviously afraid and fighting to create a division and revolt within the Labour Party ranks."

“First, they took on Mr. Peter Obi, and now Sen.Victor Umeh, to what end, if we may ask?

“We wonder how a party will degenerate so much with nothing to offer to Ndi Anambra except falsehood."

“APGA, as a party at this time, should channel all their efforts into working for Anambrians who voted for them in the last polls."

“In 2025, Anambra will go to the polls and decide if the present APGA led state Government has delivered dividends of democracy to its citizens."

The Dr Tony Nwoye Media Office further said, “We also want to state that the Labour Party Senate Caucus is intact and working together under the exemplary leadership of Senator Victor Umeh OFR and Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi."

“Our profound appreciation to all LP Senators namely Senator Victor Umeh,Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi,Sen Ireti Kingibe,Sen Kelvin Chukwu, Sen Okey Ezea,Sen Neda Imasuen, 34 PDP Senators led by Sen Aliero and Sen Aminu Tambuwal, Sen Kawo Ismaila of NNPP as well as Labour Party Leader,Mr Peter Obi and the entire NWC of LP for their unalloyed support.”
